Universal Journal
В неё входят проводки, относящиеся к General Ledger Accounting, Asset Accounting, Controlling и Material Ledger; для Controlling SAP отдельно указывает исключение costing-based Profitability Analysis.
Например, в описанных SAP сценариях Intercompany Matching and Reconciliation есть источник G/L-позиций на основе Universal Journal Entry Line Items (ACDOCA) и отдельный entry-view источник для AR/AP на основе BSEG.
Совпадают ли company code, fiscal year, document number и ledger?
Scope: SAP S/4HANA 2025 On-Premise. This explanation follows SAP On-Premise documentation; it does not prove that the same apps, releases, APIs, or storage details apply to Cloud Public Edition or every customer system.
Keep the business event, accounting entry, and report representation separate. SAP documentation describes a journal entry as a header plus at least two line items. The header holds information for the whole entry, such as dates and entry type. Items hold amounts, accounts, and transaction-specific detail, and may include assignments such as profit center or cost center.

Universal Journal and accounting/reporting views
Before the journal entry is recorded in the Universal Journal, Financial Accounting can add ledger-specific information. If document splitting is active, the system creates additional G/L items; it can also derive segment or cost center. SAP lists different accounting principles and valuation views, currencies, and additional clearing items among the possible information. The original entry and a G/L view can therefore contain different item sets.
For SAP S/4HANA 2025 On-Premise, SAP describes the Universal Journal as the common basis for external and internal accounting. The described accounting scope includes General Ledger Accounting, Asset Accounting, Controlling, and Material Ledger postings. SAP explicitly excludes costing-based Profitability Analysis from the stated Controlling scope. The feature description connects this model with continuous reconciliation of external and internal accounting and says that separate reconciliation between FI and CO, and between G/L and Asset Accounting, is not necessary for this described scope.
Keep that statement bounded. It does not remove the need to reconcile a business process, verify source completeness, analyze excluded or separately integrated scenarios, or check results in a specific system. Do not turn integrated accounting into a blanket rule that no reconciliation is needed.
SAP distinguishes the entry view from the General Ledger view for a ledger. The entry view shows line items originally entered or transferred from the source component. The G/L view can include ledger-specific enrichment and items generated during accounting. A difference between these views is not automatically a duplicate or a data error.
Identify the application and data source used for analysis. For example, SAP documents pre-delivered Intercompany Matching and Reconciliation sources that use Universal Journal Entry Line Items (ACDOCA) for G/L matching and a separate BSEG-based entry-view source for AR/AP. This is a concrete ICMR example, not a promise that all SAP applications use the same table or expose the same fields.
Do not substitute a table name for the business question. Record the required view, ledger, company, fiscal period, currency, and level of detail. Then check the documentation for the selected API, CDS view, or application in the target release. A document header, an original entry item, a ledger item, and a report aggregate answer different questions.
Diagnose a difference between a screen and a report#
When the same document looks different, check in this order:
Do company code, fiscal year, document number, and ledger match?
Are you comparing entry view with G/L view for the same document? Is the ledger specified for the latter?
Could document splitting or another documented process have added items or dimensions?
Does the report show original items, additional ledger items, or an aggregate? Which filters and currency rules apply?
Do the keys and level of detail in the API or CDS view answer the reconciliation question?
Do not delete an apparently extra row or call it a duplicate until you know how that item was produced and which view the business process expects.
Case 1. The entry view has two entered items, while the G/L view shows additional items with account assignments. Is this automatically an error?
Answer: No. Identify the ledger and check whether a documented process such as document splitting can add G/L items. Then compare amounts, assignments, and the expected view.
Case 2. Two reports both mention the Universal Journal, but one source uses ACDOCA while another exposes an AR/AP entry view. Can you compare their rows directly?
Answer: Not without checking the contract. Record the app, source, ledger, keys, filters, currency, and granularity. The ICMR documentation uses different delivered sources for G/L and entry-view scenarios.
Self-check: Which Controlling exception does SAP state? How does entry view differ from the G/L view? Why does ACDOCA alone not define the report contract? Answers: costing-based Profitability Analysis; originally entered or transferred items versus a ledger G/L view; the specific app, filters, and data level are defined by its source and documentation.
